Do you work directly with title and escrow companies?

Yes. Fortis accepts assignments from title companies, escrow companies, lenders, banks, credit unions, signing services, attorneys, and other authorized hiring parties.

H3: Do you handle HELOC signings?

Yes. Fortis provides signing appointments for eligible home equity loans and home equity lines of credit, including assignments from banks and credit unions.

H3: Can you print two sets of loan documents?

Yes, when requested in advance. Package size, paper size, color requirements, borrower-copy requirements, and printing deadlines should be included with the assignment.

H3: Do you provide scanbacks?

Yes. Full-package or selected-page scanbacks may be provided when included in the confirmed assignment.

Can you return documents by FedEx or UPS?

Yes. The hiring party should provide the prepaid shipping label and carrier instructions. Same-day carrier acceptance depends on the appointment time, nearby drop-off availability, and the carrier’s cutoff schedule.

Can you explain the loan documents to the signer?

Fortis may identify documents, point to information printed in the package, and follow the written presentation instructions provided by the hiring party. The notary cannot interpret loan terms, provide legal advice, or advise the signer whether to proceed.

What happens if the signer has questions?

The signer will be directed to the lender, escrow officer, title representative, attorney, or other designated contact. The hiring party should provide a contact who will be available during the appointment.

What happens if the documents contain an error?

Fortis will contact the designated closing representative. The notary will not independently correct names, figures, dates, vesting, loan terms, or legal language without authorized instructions.

Do you offer evening or urgent signings?

Evening, late-night, weekend, holiday, and rush appointments may be available. Additional charges may apply and must be approved before confirmation.

Can a real estate signing be completed online?

Possibly. The document, transaction, lender, title company, recording jurisdiction, and receiving party must all permit the remote electronic process. Fortis will confirm eligibility before scheduling a remote online appointment.

Do you notarize documents outside Oregon?

For an in-person traditional notarization, Christopher must perform the notarial act while physically located within Oregon. For an eligible remote online notarization, Christopher must remain physically located in Oregon, but the signer may be located elsewhere, subject to applicable requirements and recipient acceptance.
